This runner is a well made, that has a very creative weave design & seems durable. I purchased a few of the runners & several of the rugs from the Safavieh Seagrass collection for my new coastal home – & they look like they were custom made for each of the rooms & hallways. There is a very contemporary look to my home, and the Safavieh Seagrass rugs helps tie in the coastal look I desired. They also help tie in the different blue & gray tones together from all the different furnishings & areas of the house. A few of the runners are in high traffic areas, & have held up very well. They look clean & brand new. They are easy to clean, & I basically just vacuum them once or twice a week. For the price I paid, they are well worth anyones time.
This runner is a great value. Its authentic woven seagrass, and quite thick. Walking on it with bare feet or just socks provides a quasi shiatsu foot massage. It is not smooth, but full of texture. Being natural seagrass, there are beginning and end tie offs. So, if you are inclined to a perfect uninterrupted visuals, this runner might not be for you. You can see so some ends of the seagrass, but not many. We have had this runner for several weeks, and love it. I guess the long term question is if the tie off ends will be the first part of the rug to unravel. Time will tell on that consideration. I would buy this same product again, because to me the texture is part of the appeal.
I have always purchased the cotton bound sisal rugs. I took a chance on the seagrass sisal blend. It has a little more texture for sure, and it shed seagrass a bit in the beginning. But I actually like the dark color a bit more than the light sisal, better for high summer traffic and it has a nice summery, beachy vibe. Great runner for the price.
